September Hive Night | 90s High School Yearbook Theme

at the Creative Corner (Content Studio in New London, CT)

There’s something special about getting a group of creative people in one room and just letting things happen.

Our very first Hive Night was back in September, and we started with a 90s high school yearbook theme. We had the throwback looks, the poses, the music playing in the background and, of course, pizza because you can’t have a night of creating without something to eat lol

But honestly, my favorite part wasn’t just seeing the pictures everyone created. It was watching everyone come together.

Photographers were sharing ideas, models were bringing their own personalities to the shoot and people were learning from each other along the way. Nobody had to do everything alone. Everyone had something different to bring to the table.

One moment that really stuck with me was seeing one of the photographers working with a film camera. Watching him wind it up and use it was so cool. It was one of those little moments where you realize that even when you’re surrounded by people who do what you do, there’s always something new to learn. We all have different experiences, different ways of working and different things we can share with each other.

That’s the kind of environment we want to keep building with The Hive.

The name actually fits us pretty well. Bees work together, each doing their part to keep the hive going. That’s how we see these nights, too. Photographers, models, creative directors, stylists and anyone who loves creating coming together, sharing ideas and making something that probably wouldn’t have happened the same way on their own.

And for us, there’s also a lot of gratitude behind it all. We thank God for the gifts He’s given each of us and for the opportunity to bring people together through something we love. Being able to create, connect and learn from one another is something we don’t want to take for granted. We’re excited to see what He continues to do through this community.

Our first Hive Night reminded us that creativity doesn’t have to be a competition. There’s room for all of us to grow, support each other and celebrate what everyone brings to the table.

To everyone who came out in September, thank you for being part of the beginning. You helped set the tone for what we hope The Hive will continue to be: a place where people feel welcome to create, try something new, share their talents and connect with others who understand that creative spark.

And we’re just getting started. 🐝

Thank you for bringing your talent, your ideas and your energy to our first night. Every person added something different, and that’s what makes this community what it is!!

If you’ve been looking for a space to meet other creatives, learn from one another and make things just for the love of creating, we’d love to have you be part of The Hive. There’s always room for more creativity, more connections and more ideas.

Until the next Hive Night, keep creating and keep being a light to the people around you
